Plant life is a British Institution that works on preserving plants and habitat, with the support of British Royal Society for the Protection of Birds has determined the most important bird areas in Turkey. Istanbul University’s Botanic Department and Flora & Fauna International are cooperating in determining the most important areas around Istanbul and the Black Sea Region. One of the top 25 most important bird areas in the world is the Eastern Black Sea area where 2500 types of plant life has been specified out of which 300 are endemic, 400 species are rare and 31 are almost extinct.
This tour can be planned from 5 to 15 days and features bird observation in all the areas and in the Natural Ancient Forests that are a rarity in Europe. The tour can be operated from May to October and small hotels and Yayla (plateau) lodges are used. The tour goes from Trabzon to Soganli Mountains, Kackar Mountains, Karcal Mountains, Vercenik and Tatos Mountains, Firtina Valley, Macahel Valley, Barhal Valley, Coruh Valley, Rize and Artvin Yaylas which are situated in the Eastern Black Sea Region.
