Upon arrival in Dubrovnik, meet your guide and explore one of the world’s best-preserved medieval walled cities. Situated on the beautiful coast of the Adriatic, Dubrovnik is well known for its stunning monuments. Visit the Franciscan monastery and Sponza Palace and Cathedral, built on the ruins of a 12th century church–then destroyed in 1667 by an earthquake. After your tour of the city, transfer to your preferred hotel for check-in and overnight.
Enjoy your full day tour to beautiful Montenegro. First stop is in Perast, an old town in the bay of Kotor, where you will enjoy a boat ride to Gospa od Skrpjel (Our Lady of the Rocks). This artificial island was created over centuries on a foundation of rocks and old ships. Continue to Kotor, a city of traders and famous sailors. Proceed south to Budva and see its beautiful beaches and Mediterranean architecture. On the way back to Dubrovnik drive to Lepetane and take a ferry boat ride to Kamenari. Return to Dubrovnik hotel for overnight.
This morning after breakfast, drive to Ston, famous for its medieval walls and oyster farms. After lunch, continue to the small coastal town of Drvenik and board the ferry for Sucuraj, Hvar. The island of Hvar is the queen of the Croatian Dalmatian islands. Take the afternoon to explore or relax at your leisure. Overnight at your hotel in Hvar.
Meet your local guide and explore Hvar town, an ancient city with a rich past. Discover the historic legacy of Hvar, and listen to the stories of the town. A stroll through Hvar’s picturesque streets reveals centuries of Dalmatian architecture. The typical Mediterranean town has numerous monuments, including fortresses, churches, and one of the oldest theatres in Europe, which is a testament to its ancient and rich culture. After sightseeing, proceed to Starigrad for the ferry to Split. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and enjoy a free evening for personal pursuits.
After breakfast, meet your guide and explore “the most beautiful city in the world”, as its citizens proudly proclaim. Here is a place where history reveals itself around every corner! One of the oldest cities in the region, Split formed around the Diocletian palace, built in 305 CE. The following turbulent centuries saw the palace made into a town first populated by the citizens of nearby Salona, followed by Avars and Slavs. The town overgrew the walls of the palace and its authorities changed as the years passed. Rulers included Croatians, Hungarians, Venetians, French, and Austro-Hungarian monarchy. Following the city tour, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Transfer to Plitvice National Park and check in to your preferred hotel.
Following breakfast, begin your tour of the National Park. Take in the unspoiled beauty of the park set in deep woodland populated by deer, bears, wolves, boars and rare bird species. Immerse yourself in the captivating landscape with a backdrop of lakes and waterfalls throughout the park. After lunch, continue to the capital of Croatia, Zagreb, where you will check into your preferred hotel and enjoy the rest of the afternoon and evening at your leisure.
Explore the warm and inviting city of Zagreb on your morning guided tour. Take a walk through Zrinjevac along the avenues lined with trees and flowers to the main city square of Ban Jelacic, the heart of the city. You will love the Upper Town and its mediaeval twin settlements: secular Gradec and ecclesiastical Kaptol, both well preserved. Experience the local cuisine at lunch before continuing to Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. See the castle and discover the legacy of the Baroque and Art Nouveau influences in this city’s unique architecture as you tour the streets of the historic city center with your guide. Settle down for your final evening in this most memorable region.
After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy some free time until you transfer to the airport for your outbound flight.
